Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Modelon ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use modelon.ai and our related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information — your email address and (if you sign up with email) a password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
• Garment images — the flat-lay and product photos you upload to generate on-model imagery, plus any photos you save to your Library or organize into Outfits and Catalogs.
• Project metadata — project names, generation settings (model selection, poses, background, output format), and the generated images themselves.
• Studio service data — if you use our optional Studio photography service, we collect shipping addresses, garment descriptions, and order details.
• Payment information — collected and stored by Stripe. We never store your full card number; we receive only the last four digits, brand, and a tokenized identifier.
• Support correspondence — messages you send us or to our AI support assistant.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage data — pages viewed, features used, generation counts, and timestamps. We use this to operate and improve the Service.
• Device and connection data — IP address, browser, operating system, and approximate location derived from IP.
• Cookies and similar technologies — strictly-necessary cookies for sign-in sessions and CSRF protection, plus analytics and advertising cookies (see “Analytics and advertising cookies” below). In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland these load only after you opt in; elsewhere they load by default and you can opt out at any time.

2. How we use information

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
• Process payments, manage subscriptions, and grant credits.
• Run image generation jobs through our self-hosted AI engine — your garment photos and outputs are sent to the engine to produce on-model results.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, order updates).
• Respond to support requests, including via our AI chat (which uses Anthropic Claude via the Vercel AI Gateway).
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your garment photos or generated images to train AI models. Generation requests to our engine are processed for your job only.

3. Service providers we share data with

We rely on the following processors to operate the Service. Each is bound to use data only to provide services to us:

• Supabase — authentication and database for accounts, projects, library, credits.
• Vercel — application hosting and file storage (Vercel Blob) for your uploaded garments and generated outputs.
• Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and credit top-ups.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Shippo — shipping label generation for the Studio service (only if you use Studio).
• Google — if you sign in with Google, identity verification per the Google Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic and OpenAI (via Vercel AI Gateway) — power the in-app Help Chat. Conversations are sent with zero data retention configured.
• Self-hosted AI engine — Modelon's image generation engine runs on a Vultr server we control. Generation requests include your garment URLs and chosen settings.

We may share information with law enforcement or in response to lawful requests, but only to the extent required by law. We also use analytics and advertising partners — see “Analytics and advertising cookies” below.

4. Analytics and advertising cookies

To understand how people discover and use Modelon and to measure our advertising, we use analytics and advertising technologies, managed through Google Tag Manager:

• Google — Google Analytics 4 (usage measurement) and Google Ads (conversion measurement and remarketing).
• Meta — Facebook and Instagram advertising pixels for conversion measurement and audience building, where enabled.

We use Google Consent Mode to control these technologies by region. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland they stay off until you opt in through our cookie banner. In the United States and other opt-out regions they are on by default — and you can opt out at any time:

• We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of advertising cookies. Turn it on in a supported browser or extension and we'll disable advertising technologies automatically.
• Install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on and manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings.
• Manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook Ad Preferences.
• Email hello@modelon.ai to ask us not to “sell” or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws.

5. Data retention

• Account data — kept as long as your account is active.
• Garment uploads and generated images — retained until you delete the project or the related Library item. Deleted projects are permanently removed within 30 days.
• Payment records — kept for as long as legally required (typically 7 years for tax/audit purposes).
• Studio service order data — kept for 3 years after order completion for warranty and refund support.

6. Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Access your data — visible in the app and downloadable from your projects.
• Update or correct account information from Settings.
• Delete projects, Library items, and generated images at any time from the app.
• Close your account by emailing hello@modelon.ai. We'll delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
• Export your generated images by downloading them from individual projects or using “Download All”.
• Object to processing or request a copy of your data — email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. Email us to exercise them.

7. Children

Modelon is intended for users aged 18 and over (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. International transfers

Modelon is operated from the United States. Your data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. We use providers with industry-standard safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses where required).

9. Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and row-level security to ensure each user can access only their own data. Watermarks on free-tier images are applied server-side so paid status can be verified. No system is perfectly secure; you upload at your own risk.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
