What happens to your garments after the shoot

Three options — return, donate, or discard — picked at order time. Return ships them back at your cost; donate and discard are free.

Updated June 1, 2026

Every Studio order picks one of three dispositions at checkout. It's a required choice so we always know what to do once the shoot is finished — no abandoned packages, no surprise charges later.

The three options

Return them to me

We ship the box back to you after the shoot. You pay for the return label at checkout, exactly the same way you pay for inbound shipping — pick a carrier and service from a list of live quotes, the cost is added to your order total.

We re-quote at the moment we actually buy the return label (since carrier rates expire over time). Small price differences either way are on us — you pay what you committed to at checkout.

If you used "Buy shipping through Modelon" for the inbound leg, you can tick "Use the same address as my inbound shipment" and skip re-entering it. Otherwise enter the return address separately — it doesn't need to match where the garments came from.

We route your garments to a clothing-recovery partner. No charge. We'll mark the order as donated once the items have been physically handed off.

Discard responsibly

Recycled where possible, otherwise landfilled. No charge. Mostly for unwearable items or things you specifically don't want back or donated.

When does the customer pay vs when do we ship?

Return shipping is paid upfront alongside the inbound order, but the label is bought at ship-out time — usually a couple of business days after we complete the shoot. Tracking + the printable label appear on your order page and are emailed to you as soon as the label is generated.

Mixed dispositions

Not supported today — disposition applies to the whole order. If you want a mix (return 6, donate 2), the simplest path is two orders. We may add per-item dispositions later if there's demand.

Changing your mind

Disposition is locked at checkout. If you really need to change it (e.g. you decided you want a donate order returned after seeing the photos), email info@modelon.ai with your order number and we'll work it out manually.
